[Lam-public] Blank page when trying to create new user

Hey everyone,

when I login to lam and then click the "New User" button, the bottom
pane of the page goes to some sort of redirect page which then redirects
and is blank. This leaves me with a top pane that has the "Tree view
Users Groups" etc buttons on it, but only white space in the bottom
pane. The browser is done loading the page, its not hanging. There are
no errors in the syslog. The redirected URL that yields a blank page is:
http://venus/lam/templates/account/edit.php?type=user&suffix=ou=people,dc=xxxxxx,dc=com I tried browsing to that url and indeed the page is blank. Assuming that the DN is supposed to be in the url like that, the DN is correct.

Does anyone know what could be going on here?

I also experience the same condition when I go into the profile editor
and manage an existing profile for "Users". The page loads just fine if
I try to manage groups, samba domains, or mail alias profiles.

A blank screen is the result of a very broken PHP script. Usually PHP
will try to throw an error, but sometimes it can't for whatever reason.

Check the memory limit in php.ini. I have a vague memory of blank
screens when I had a memory limit too small. LAM does check for a
recommended limit, but sometimes it's guess is wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion but no dice.

The memory limit was set to 64M so I bumped it up to 128M, restarted
apache, and I still get the same result. I even tried 256M just to be
sure but still nothing.

please check if there is anything in the Apache access/error log files.

Does the profile editor work for the other account types (e.g. groups)?
What is your PHP version?
